In March 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries, which included the work Legong Dancer by Auke Sonnega. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 15,000.00 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Auke Sonnega have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ceremony at the Temple in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 562,500.00 (€ 65,014.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Legong Dancer von Auke Sonnega zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 15.000,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Auke Sonnega auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ceremony at the Temple im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 65.014,59).
