Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Interior of Gloucester Cathedral by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 891.14) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A folio of fourteen studies and designs and decorations for furniture and metalwork, which sold at auction in June 2003 for GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,091.10).
