Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME-BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES AND WORKS ON PAPER, which included the work Lantern studies by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 590.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A folio of fourteen studies and designs and decorations for furniture and metalwork in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 2,151.00 (€ 3,091.10).
