This artwork by Augustus Walford Weedon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2005. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Sheep resting in the shade of an apple orchard sold for GBP 420.00 (€ 616.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augustus Walford Weedon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Dutch coast, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,693.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Augustus Walford Weedon erzielte im September 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Sheep resting in the shade of an apple orchard für GBP 420,00 (€ 616,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Augustus Walford Weedon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit On the Dutch coast beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.693,16) versteigert wurde.
