Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Massa Ducale; and Prickly pears at Taormina (illustrated) by Augustus John Cuthbert Hare was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 132.00 (€ 193.72). Admittedly, works by Augustus John Cuthbert Hare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Palazzo Antichi Mattei, Rome in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 660.00 (€ 978.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Massa Ducale; and Prickly pears at Taormina (illustrated) von Augustus John Cuthbert Hare im September 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 132,00 (€ 193,72) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Augustus John Cuthbert Hare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Palazzo Antichi Mattei, Rome im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 660,00 (€ 978,16).
