Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Poppet by Augustus John was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,088.00 (€ 1,260.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 487,500.00 (€ 415,140.94).
