Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Poppet by Augustus John was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,088.00 (€ 1,260.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 487,500.00 (€ 415,140.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Poppet von Augustus John kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.088,00 (€ 1.260,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus John erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 487.500,00 (€ 415.140,94).
