Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of Edwin John by Augustus John was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 5,376.00 (€ 6,229.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Augustus John achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 487,500.00 (€ 415,140.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of Edwin John von Augustus John kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 5.376,00 (€ 6.229,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Augustus John erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head Of A Girl (Edie Mcneill) im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 487.500,00 (€ 415.140,94).
