Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work A Section of the main Street of the Fatimid area of al-Qahira (the heart of historic Cairo) with the Mosque of al-Fakahani (Mosque of the Fruit Sellers) on the left by Augusto Lovatti for USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,515.85). This price was achieved in the auction Orientalist Art, 19th Century European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Augusto Lovatti - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Farmgirls Walking On The Cliff Tops, Capri, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 11,162.50 (€ 18,177.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Section of the main Street of the Fatimid area of al-Qahira (the heart of historic Cairo) with the Mosque of al-Fakahani (Mosque of the Fruit Sellers) on the left von Augusto Lovatti für USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.515,85) erwerben.
