A top price for Augustin Moreau-Vauthier
In October 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work French Fortuna by Augustin Moreau-Vauthier. The »bidding war« ended at USD 46,875.00 (€ 36,961.84), 34% above the upper estimate. With this result, French Fortuna is even the most expensive work of art by Augustin Moreau-Vauthier that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit French Fortuna von Augustin Moreau-Vauthier zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 46.875,00 (€ 36.961,84) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist French Fortuna sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Augustin Moreau-Vauthier, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
