Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Arabs on banks of the Nile by Auguste Louis Veillon was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,212.20) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Auguste Louis Veillon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Temple at Philae, which sold at auction in July 2018 for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,636.60).
