Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Stolen Vanity by August de Wilde for GBP 587.50 (€ 934.90). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by August de Wilde achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Merrymaking in a tavern in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 11,819.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2001 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Stolen Vanity von August de Wilde für GBP 587,50 (€ 934,90) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von August de Wilde erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Merrymaking in a tavern im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.225,00 (€ 11.819,77).
