The price achieved of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 11,819.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Merrymaking in a tavern is the most expensive artwork by August de Wilde that we have observed at auctions so far.
