Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Asahel Curtis could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Curtis StudioImportant Photographs and Ephemera from a Distinguished Private Collection auction, the work Chief Isaacs In Canoe Below Dawson; And Chief Isaacs In Front Of A Tent; (2) changed hands for USD 484.50 (€ 408.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Asahel Curtis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mount Rainier; in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 4,080.00 (€ 3,443.62).
