Safra - Selling Without Reserve auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 69,300.00 (€ 63,823.91), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ary de Vois have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of An Ensign Of The Leiden Civic Guard, Three-Quarter-Length, With Militiamen In The Background in June last year with an auction result of USD 352,800.00 (€ 336,994.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of the artist, half-length, holding a fob watch von Ary de Vois wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 63.823,91) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ary de Vois auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of An Ensign Of The Leiden Civic Guard, Three-Quarter-Length, With Militiamen In The Background im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.800,00 (€ 336.994,94).
