This artwork by Arturo Ricci achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2000. In the 19C EUROPEAN ART auction, the work The recital sold for GBP 104,950.00 (€ 179,389.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Arturo Ricci; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Italian l'Attesa sold at auction in May 2013 with the realized price of USD 233,000.00 (€ 179,396.37).
