Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arthur Victor Gregory could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work The Dutch barque Anna in coastal waters changed hands for GBP 298.75 (€ 451.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Victor Gregory have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Ss "Rotomahana" Crossing, Bass Strait in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 4,182.50 (€ 2,515.66).
