Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian st Paul'S And The River by Arthur Streeton was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The price achieved of AUD 90,000.00 (€ 52,537.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Streeton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Melba'S Country, which sold at auction in November 2009 for AUD 312,000.00 (€ 190,250.50).
