Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arthur Streeton could be acquired at Sothebys in Sydney in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Paintings auction, the work Australian Grampians Landscape changed hands for AUD 90,000.00 (€ 54,452.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Streeton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Melba'S Country, which sold at auction in November 2009 for AUD 312,000.00 (€ 190,250.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Arthur Streeton konnte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Sydney für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Paintings wechselte die Arbeit Australian Grampians Landscape für AUD 90.000,00 (€ 54.452,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arthur Streeton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Melba'S Country beobachtet, die im November 2009 für AUD 312.000,00 (€ 190.250,50) versteigert wurde.
