Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian a View Of Mount Toorong by Arthur Streeton. The price achieved of AUD 62,400.00 (€ 36,425.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 55,000.00 – 65,000.00. Admittedly, works by Arthur Streeton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Melba'S Country in November 2009 with an auction result of AUD 312,000.00 (€ 190,250.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian a View Of Mount Toorong von Arthur Streeton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 62.400,00 (€ 36.425,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 55.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arthur Streeton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Melba'S Country im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 312.000,00 (€ 190.250,50).
