Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Grand Canal, Venice by Arthur Spooner was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in November 2011. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,167.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Spooner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Fair, Nottingham in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 218,050.00 (€ 324,523.71).

Die Arbeit The Grand Canal, Venice von Arthur Spooner wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.167,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Spooner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Goose Fair, Nottingham im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 218.050,00 (€ 324.523,71).
