Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work The capstan (illustrated); and The pilot by Arthur Briscoe. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,113.04). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arthur Briscoe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decks Awash in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 33,600.00 (€ 49,866.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime durch, in der auch die Arbeit The capstan (illustrated); and The pilot von Arthur Briscoe zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.113,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Arthur Briscoe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Decks Awash im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.600,00 (€ 49.866,61).
