Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Spirit of Youth Emerging from the Surf by Arthur Frank Mathews was sold in the Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer auction at Bonhams in February this year. The price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,810.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arthur Frank Mathews - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study of a Lady in Ochre Seated with Green Dress, which sold at auction in August 2021 for USD 19,062.50 (€ 16,154.66).

Die Arbeit The Spirit of Youth Emerging from the Surf von Arthur Frank Mathews wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.100,00 (€ 4.810,41) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
