Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a lady, bust length, in a pink hat and coat by Ambrose McEvoy for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,079.75). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Ambrose McEvoy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,588.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, bust length, in a pink hat and coat von Ambrose McEvoy für GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.079,75) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ambrose McEvoy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Dorothy Duveen, Three-Quarter Length, Seated On A Red Chair im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.588,14).
