Despite a disappointment, a good price for Armando Melendez
When the work Double Fantasy by Armando Melendez was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,374.73). Despite this disappointing result, Double Fantasy is the most expensive artwork by Armando Melendez that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Armando Melendez
Als die Arbeit Double Fantasy von Armando Melendez im Juli letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.402,50 (€ 1.374,73) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Double Fantasy das teuerste Kunstwerk von Armando Melendez, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
