The work A lady, in lace-trimmed white dress, dark blue sash, dark blue ribbon in her upswept and curling fair hair and falling over her shoulders; sky background by Archibald Skirving was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2007. It achieved a price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,800.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Archibald Skirving achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young lady, possibly Lady Pringle, née Emilia Anne MacLeod (1786-1830) in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 28,658.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
