Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venice, A View Of The Piazzetta, Looking Towards Santa Maria Della Salute; Venice, A View Of The Rio Dei Mendicanti With The Convento Dei Domenicani by Apollonio Domenichini was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 35,027.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Apollonio Domenichini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Venice, A View Of Piazza San Marco With The Basilica; Venice, A View From The Giudecca Facing East With The Churches Of The Redentore And The Chiesa Delle Zitelle in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 206,500.00 (€ 265,833.98).
