Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Triumph of Julius Caesar by Apollonio di Giovanni was sold in the Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 226,800.00 (€ 186,897.40). Admittedly, works by Apollonio di Giovanni have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Battle Before A Walled City, Perhaps The Siege Of Assisi in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,273,000.00 (€ 857,758.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Triumph of Julius Caesar von Apollonio di Giovanni wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 226.800,00 (€ 186.897,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Apollonio di Giovanni auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Battle Before A Walled City, Perhaps The Siege Of Assisi im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.273.000,00 (€ 857.758,91).
