Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A street scene in the snow (recto) and a crowd scene (verso) by Antonio Pietro Martino. The price achieved of GBP 822.50 (€ 1,288.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Pietro Martino achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sledding, Manayunk, Pennsylvania in September 2009 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,670.54).

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A street scene in the snow (recto) and a crowd scene (verso) von Antonio Pietro Martino zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.288,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antonio Pietro Martino erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sledding, Manayunk, Pennsylvania im September 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.670,54).
