Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Rome, Looking Towards The Castel Sant' Angelo, With Saint Peter'S Basilica Beyond by Antonio Joli. The price achieved of GBP 543,000.00 (€ 596,177.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio Joli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Capriccio With The French Ambassador Approaching The King Of Siam’S Palace In A State Barge, In October 1685, Featuring The White Porcelain Pagoda, From Nanjing, China, On The Left in October last year with an auction result of USD 3,300,000.00 (€ 3,321,924.70).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 543.000,00 (€ 596.177,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden.
