Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Naples From The West; And The Gulf Of Pozzuoli by Antonio Joli was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 305,000.00 (€ 432,387.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio Joli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Capriccio With The French Ambassador Approaching The King Of Siam’S Palace In A State Barge, In October 1685, Featuring The White Porcelain Pagoda, From Nanjing, China, On The Left in October last year with an auction result of USD 3,300,000.00 (€ 3,321,924.70).
