Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rape Of The Sabine Women by Antonio Domenico Gabbiani was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,580.35) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Domenico Gabbiani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of three gentlemen, half-length, one in a red doublet holding a viola da gamba in one hand and a miniature portrait in the other, the second in a brown coat with a silk cravat, holding a letter, the last holding up a medal from a chain in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 55,200.00
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Group portrait of three gentlemen, half-length, one in a red doublet holding a viola da gamba in one hand and a miniature portrait in the other, the second in a brown coat with a silk cravat, holding a letter, the last holding up a medal from a chain im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 55.200,00 (€ 80.047,07).
