Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work French gloria Victis by Antonin Mercié was sold in the Art Treasures of America: The John F. Eulich Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2017. It achieved a price of USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,860.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by Antonin Mercié have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French gloria Victis in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 104,500.00 (€ 84,519.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit French gloria Victis von Antonin Mercié wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Art Treasures of America: The John F. Eulich Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 17.860,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonin Mercié auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit French gloria Victis im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 104.500,00 (€ 84.519,57).
