Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Antoine Pierre Mongin could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 auction, the work A villa set in a park with figures in the foreground changed hands for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,708.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Pierre Mongin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bather in a landscape in January this year with an auction result of USD 30,240.00 (€ 27,850.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antoine Pierre Mongin konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 wechselte die Arbeit A villa set in a park with figures in the foreground für GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.708,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Pierre Mongin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A bather in a landscape im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 27.850,43).
