This work of art by Antoine Monnoyer could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work Flowers in a wicker basket on a ledge changed hands for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,724.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antoine Monnoyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tulips, Roses, Carnations, Anemone, Lilac And Orange Blossom In A Glass Urn With A Spray of Roses On A Stone Ledge; And Tulips, Anemone, Roses And Other Flowers In A Glass Urn With Roses And Morning Glory On A Stone Ledge in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 156,000.00 (€ 123,574.14).
