In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS, which included the work Studies of Neptune, seated, and of three tritons by Antoine Coypel. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 776.75 (€ 1,099.32), 29% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antoine Coypel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Allegory Of Music (A Portrait Of Mme. De Maintenon With The Natural Children Of Louis Xiv) in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,386,182.46).

Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Studies of Neptune, seated, and of three tritons von Antoine Coypel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 776,75 (€ 1.099,32) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antoine Coypel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Allegory Of Music (A Portrait Of Mme.
