Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS, which included the work Milking time by Anthony Oberman. The price achieved of NLG 7,021.20 (€ 3,236.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Anthony Oberman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, lilies, a sheaf of wheat, morning glories and other flowers in a sculpted urn, with a pineapple, red gooseberries, grapes, peaches and apricots on a marble ledge in May 2014 with an auction result of EUR 27,500.00.
