Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2006 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental and Russian Pictures, which included the work A gamekeeper with the day's bag; and A gamekeeper resting on the moors by Anthony de Bree. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,427.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony de Bree - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A bay hunter in a stable yard, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,264.83).
