In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra, which included the work Skaters And A Horse-Drawn Sledge On A Frozen Waterway by Anthonie Verstraelen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 104,500.00 (€ 76,193.95), 31% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthonie Verstraelen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating On A Frozen River Beside A Village in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 552,306.37).

Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra durch, in der auch die Arbeit Skaters And A Horse-Drawn Sledge On A Frozen Waterway von Anthonie Verstraelen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 104.500,00 (€ 76.193,95) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthonie Verstraelen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Winter Landscape With Figures Skating On A Frozen River Beside A Village im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 481.250,00 (€ 552.306,37).
