Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Marathon at University Street, Vilnius", 1959 by Antanas Sutkus was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 6,000.00 (€ 573.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antanas Sutkus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work J. P. Sartre In Lithuania in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 7,250.00 (€ 8,462.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Marathon at University Street, Vilnius", 1959 von Antanas Sutkus im Juni 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 6.000,00 (€ 573,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antanas Sutkus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit J. P. Sartre In Lithuania im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.250,00 (€ 8.462,05).
