Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sumo Book Collector's Edition: Whoopi Goldberg by Annie Leibovitz was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 3,690.00 (€ 2,275.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annie Leibovitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Keith Haring, New York City in April 2016 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 81,942.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sumo Book Collector's Edition: Whoopi Goldberg von Annie Leibovitz im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 3.690,00 (€ 2.275,36) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Annie Leibovitz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Keith Haring, New York City im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 93.750,00 (€ 81.942,14).
