Auction result misses estimated price range
In December this year a collector was able to acquire the work 'Magic Johnson, Los Angeles' by Annie Leibovitz for USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,157.11). This price was achieved in the auction The Gift of Photographs at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Annie Leibovitz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Keith Haring, New York City in April 2016 with an auction result of USD 93,750.00 (€ 81,942.14).
