Sold at the lower estimate price
In January last year Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century American Art, which included the work The Old Oaken Bucket by Grandma Moses. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,595.08) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Old Oaken Bucket von Grandma Moses zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.595,08) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grandma Moses erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sugaring Off im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.360.000,00 (€ 1.025.563,68).
