Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work August 16 1/8 x 24 in. (41 x 61 cm.) by Grandma Moses. The price achieved of USD 69,675.00 (€ 64,928.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grandma Moses achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sugaring Off in November 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,360,000.00 (€ 1,025,563.68).
