Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 36,234.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anna Lea Merritt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eve, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 121,875.00 (€ 139,263.43).
