This artwork by Anna Alma-Tadema achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2016. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction, the work The Closing Door sold for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,150.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anna Alma-Tadema; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Garden Studio sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,982.63).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anna Alma-Tadema erzielte im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit The Closing Door für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 51.150,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anna Alma-Tadema; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Garden Studio im Juli 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.982,63).
