Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shipping at the harbour mouth, Marseilles by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 896.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ange-Joseph-Antoine Roux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An important series of twenty-two watercolours depicting various traditional craft operating in Mediterranean coastal waters and a fine view of the imposing entrance to the port of Marseilles, on eleven double sided sheets, bound into a red leather a im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.573,65).
