Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self Portrait by Andy Warhol was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,737,500.00 (€ 14,797,351.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self Portrait von Andy Warhol wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000.000,00 – 18.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.737.500,00 (€ 14.797.351,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
