Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Mustard Race Riot by Andy Warhol. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 15,127,500.00 (€ 11,409,231.47). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mustard Race Riot von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 15.127.500,00 (€ 11.409.231,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
