Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Poole, Dorset by Andrew Macara. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,375.00 (€ 3,106.41), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andrew Macara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poole, Dorset von Andrew Macara zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.375,00 (€ 3.106,41) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Andrew Macara mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.459,72) versteigert wurde.
