Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Boating Swans by Andrew Macara for GBP 900.00 (€ 1,327.69). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art at Sothebys in Olympia and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Andrew Macara have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,459.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Boating Swans von Andrew Macara für GBP 900,00 (€ 1.327,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art bei Sothebys in Olympia erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andrew Macara auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Forêt Fouesnent, Brittany im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 7.459,72).
